In this retreat, you can enjoy the natural beauty at Ananda Kanak, classes on meditation, yoga, spiritual philosophy, and much more. The retreat will be led by Dada Dayashiilananda; it will start on Friday late afternoon and run until Sunday afternoon. Ananda Kanak, with its modest yet lovely 19th-century-log house, always makes you feel welcome and at home.
We will enjoy our time together during our daily yoga classes, collective meditation, silent moments, and sharing moments. We will also enjoy delicious sentient (Sattvik) food.
During this retreat, you can deepen your practice and learn personal meditation if you wish from our experienced teacher Dada.
Our accommodation capacity is limited to 12 participants, including those who may choose to stay in their tents on our site; so make sure to register for the retreat early.

Ananda Kanak and Accommodation
Ananda Kanak is a uniquely beautiful retreat centre right in the middle of a forest (in the province of Quebec), almost halfway between Montreal and Ottawa. Nearby notable attractions include Les Chutes de Plaisance and Le Chateau Montebello. Dada Dayashiilananda lives at Ananda Kanak, grows organic vegetables and fruits, and organizes various retreats.
Our retreat log house has two rooms upstairs to accommodate three and five persons. The meditation room on the ground floor can also be used as a sleeping space for a maximum of four persons. Please note that the bedding style consists in spreading thick blankets on the carpet; looks a bit atypical, nevertheless sufficiently comfortable!
We provide bedsheets, blankets, and pillows. But feel free to bring your own.
Staying in your tent at the side of the retreat center is also possible. Please get in touch with Dada for details.
The retreat fee for this retreat is only $100 CAD (including food, program, and accommodation.) You are welcome to give Dada Dayashiilananda an extra donation (cash or check) during the retreat!
What to bring:
Please bring comfortable clothing and shoes, toiletry, towel, notebook & pen, medications (if you have any), sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, and other personal needs. Please don’t bring sleeveless shirts, short pants, or short skirts. November in Quebec can be cold so bring warm clothes and preferably a sleeping bag (we also have blankets.)

Transportation by Flight
YOW (Ottawa International Airport) and YUL (Montréal-Trudeau International Airport) are the nearest airports. Ananda Kanak is a little more than an hour from YOW and about an hour and a half from YUL. Renting a car from YOW and YUL to Ananda Kanak may be an option for you. Taking Uber might be too costly, so we will also try to arrange a ride share with other participants when possible, so please let us know your travel plans in advance.
